About Cindy Hicks
I am an accomplished people and technology leader with a career that started in the trenches as a technologist. After rolling up my sleeves and digging into the bits and bytes of technology, I realized something important: successful delivery is about more than the technologies and tools we use. It’s about the process of identifying business needs and delivering solutions that meet the precise needs of the organization. This understanding prompted me to pursue Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Once I began working in this realm, I learned something new: that successful delivery is about more than the process as well. Yes—at its core, it’s about the people. My thinking continued to evolve over time, and my focus shifted to my impact on the world and my contributions to people’s lives. This concept captured my attention and awareness, and soon inspired me to leave a great job (and a great company) for a trip to Africa. My work overseas involved teaching children and spending time with families in local communities—learning from them and sharing meals, lessons, and conversations. It also allowed me to care for wildlife by estimating their populations and improving habitats in Zambia and South Africa. When I returned, Toyota welcomed me back as a technology leader, team builder, and project manager. To integrate my newly acquired skills, I pursued and attained a coaching credential that required several years of study and practice. At the same time, I advanced my career within Toyota Information Systems —driving innovation across many organizational business units and functions: Office of the CIO, marketing, information security, human resources, legal, corporate communications, administrative services, parts supply chain, vehicles accessories, vehicle warranty, and even Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. It is my goal to provide authentic, collaborative leadership, a calm presence, and business-savvy leadership.
Listed skills include Management, Pmp, Program Management, Business Process Improvement, and 42 others.
