The mission of the Center for Women and Gender Equity (CWGE) is to support students, staff, faculty, and community partners of BGSU with programs and services that advance the understanding of and potential for gender equity. Through an intersectional feminist lens, I was able to provide support and assistance to implement multicultural educational and social programming. This was accomplished by assisting with the planning, development, and implementation of events such as: Women of Color Leadership Summit, an annual event that brings women of color activist-scholars to BGSU to discuss the contributions women of color have made to leadership, activism, and advocacy in their communities and more broadly.International Women's Day, a celebration of women's rights in a global/international sphere through panel and roundtable discussions with international students at BGSU.Women of Distinction Awards, an annual event celebrating women who with excellence, ingenuity, and ability have overcome barriers that still exist for women today.Additionally: Planned, developed, and facilitated 10 Feminist Fridays attended by 15+ students/staff. A book club/workshop with excerpts from the Crunk Feminist Collection and touched on issues such as intersectionality, race, class, African-American culture, anti-blackness, and feminism.
