• The classroom community I work each year to create is culturally inclusive and responsive to the particular needs and learning styles of all students. Multi-cultural literature is part of my long-range curriculum plan, and encourages students to accept and celebrate their diverse backgrounds.• I plan a standards based curriculum that is separated into a series of thematic units. Each unit incorporates cooperative learning, student-centered activities, and learning choices that are aligned with the students’ individual needs, interests, and learning styles.English language development activities are integrated into all content area instruction. English learners participate in all classroom activities, and receive direct instruction and guided practice according to their specific learning needs.• I enjoy working collaboratively with other teachers, and appreciate the way this kind of teamwork enhances student learning.• I use technology as a teaching tool and as a creative medium through which teachers and students can express themselves.Specialties: • Hands-on math and science• Teaching with technology
