My primary focus was to compile current-state architectural specifications for each application in order to calculate and report the architected availability. My secondary function was to perform gap analysis of each application’s contingency and continuity plans in order to identify areas of improvement for fast follow-up.

This project was highly visible to Xerox management and customers. Prior to my assignment, the project had slipped schedule and experienced negative visibility. I was able to lead the team to complete the project within scope and on schedule. • Influential in the creation, implementation, and management of the Engineering Review Board. I conducted business and technical analysis for all SDPs; ensuring functionality and feasibility of the design prior to review by the Board at-large. I enabled the Solution Architects to present their designs to SMEs to gain approval prior to delivery to the client.• During the Texas Data Center Services contract transition between Xerox and the former TxDCS service provider, I designed the initial build factory framework. By studying our predecessor’s workflows and conducting interviews with organizational units to review specific input and output requirements, I was able to determine areas for process improvement. Using industry best practices and ITIL fundamentals, I designed a server build process that was approved by the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) and our customers. • While working as Decomm Team Lead, I evaluated the newly designed decommission process and identified a number of missed requirements. After participating in the process redesign, I worked with Xerox management and my team to format detailed weekly reports that illustrated the status of the configuration item as it progressed through the decommission phases. My reports provided Xerox management with a view into the strategic and tactical impact to the infrastructure.

Positions & Duties:• Senior Systems Analyst• Network Systems Analyst• Help Desk AnalystAchievements:• Conducted a technical and business requirements analysis of BISD’s server infrastructure, resulting in the conclusion that the current systems were severely under-resourced due to outdated hardware and software. • Developed a high-level plan defining the scope, risks, and integration activities required to implement the infrastructure modifications required to ensure business continuity.• Worked with our Dell account management team to identify total project costs of a server infrastructure upgrade and was able to obtain approval from the District’s Board of Directors to initiate an infrastructure transformation project using VMWare’s VCenter 4.0, Dell servers, and EqualLogic SANs.• Designed and implemented a server virtualization and SAN solution resulting in improved performance of BISD’s computing infrastructure and the reduction of hardware, software, power, and cooling costs. • Decommissioned and consolidated application, database, and web servers resulting in approximately $50,000 annual savings in warranty and support costs. • My team and I performed business continuity risk assessments in order to implement the corrective actions needed for the success of the District's developing disaster recovery and contingency initiatives.• As the Technology department's server team representative, I participated on the district leadership committee when we were tasked with compiling the District's five year technology plan.
