[LFA-MM/CL/2407167D]More than 10 years being in the Human Resources field, I have helped employees with medical reimbursement by submitting claims through the Employee Benefits Program (EBP). I realized how important the EBP has helped most of them. However, the EBP will not fully cover the medical cost in some cases and many employees struggling especially on the bigger bills.10 years ago, when my husband had a stroke, my family’s finances were severely crippled. The stroke impacted his ability to work and almost overnight, I became the sole breadwinner and the sole care provider for my husband who needed constant attention. This journey was especially tough for me as we had no prior plans and we were forced to face a sudden and unexpected turn of life events.Whilst battling this uncertain and difficult period in my life, I was introduced to the Financial Services Industry in 2016. Changing my career from a full time employee as a senior HR Executive to a financial adviser was challenging and daunting. However, I felt that my own struggles and unpreparedness for sudden life changing events should be shared to as many people as I can so that at least they could take the necessary action before anything happens. My story resonated with many people that I met and made them take a closer look at their own level or financial preparedness for life emergencies as well as other life goals such as funding their children’s education and their own golden years.
