Directed employee relations and retention initiatives; employment law compliance; workers’ compensation program administration and control; recruitment, selection and placement; education and training; management development; benefits and compensation; and payroll administration for a 220-bed, 1,200-employee hospital. Participated in the hospital’s “administrator on call” weekend rotation. • Developed and implemented tools and training sessions to help managers coach and counsel employees for optimal performance and to foster positive morale. • Developed and led management training sessions on topics such as the Family and Medical Leave Act, workplace harassment and discrimination avoidance and policies, and control of workers’ compensation claims.• Presented the organization’s benefits programs to aid in employee understanding and value of the program.• Collaborated with Corporate Compensation to evaluate job levels (grades), set and adjust pay levels, implement market adjustments, and administer the annual performance and merit increase program. • Directed the organization’s education and training needs to meet Joint Commission on Hospital Accreditation (JCHA) standards.• Assisted staff with safety issues and managed workers’ compensation claims; achieved workers’ compensation rates among the best in the company’s 50-state footprint. • Led a multi-disciplinary Performance Improvement Team to enhance the organization’s employee competency system, presented findings/report to the JCHA, and received “superior merit” rating.
