Dennis Wood is the CEO and chief creator at Cinevate, a Canadian company specializing in innovative equipment for filmmakers. His educational background includes a Bachelors degree in Biology, Education and post graduate studies in business. Dennis has worked as a Staff Scientist at Science North, Teacher, and Systems Analyst/Manager with the Canada Revenue Agency. Following his first business in computer consulting, Cinevate was born out of a forum post advertising a limited production run of the Brevis35, a depth of field device for video cameras. Ten years later, Cinevate continues to innovate in the film industry with a growing portfolio of products focusing on camera movement and support. With a purpose build studio and photo/video production facilities in-house, Cinevate continues to push forward in the areas of distributed technology, rapid product cycling and LEAN production.Cinevate recently completed phase 1 of a net zero business plan to take our headquarters facility to as close to zero footprint as possible. Cinevate's 9500 sq/ft building in Thunder Bay uses approximately 75% less energy than comparable structures in our region, and work goes on to make our operation a positive generator of energy.
