I restarted my learning journey in 2019, earning a certificate for Women in Leadership from Cornell University and then completed an Executive Development Program at Columbia University. I was in New York when I declared in front of my classmates, “I am applying to Law School!” In May, I finished my Banking and Financial Law degree through York University’s Osgoode Hall, and here I am declaring on LinkedIn that I am entering politics. I have served our country by protecting our borders. I have intercepted and interviewed drug smugglers and suspected terrorists. I have worked closely with the US Customs Service and the RCMP Integrated National Security Enforcement Team. I have contributed to fighting some of the most damaging crime our country has endured over the last ten years. The proliferation of the illicit drug trade has contributed & continues to contribute to homelessness, crime, mental illness and overdoses. In the last 7 years, I have been combating money laundering, terrorist activity financing and threats to the security of Canada, while working at Canada's financial crime agency, FINTRAC. I believe in community. I have been volunteering in Vancouver since 2004. I have reviewed grant proposals for the Vancouver Foundation’s Neighborhood Small Grants Program. I currently sit on two civic advisory committees with the City of Vancouver: The Urban Indigenous Peoples’ Advisory Committee & the Civic Asset Naming Committee. My friends & family have advised me to “just be yourself”. What does that actually mean in politics? For me, it means aligning myself with a party that has the same values. Integrity. Loyalty. Teamwork. I’m proud to be running with the NPA. My focus is bringing back core services & maintenance, community safety & well-being, and reconciliation & reunification of neighbours. I am passionate. I am genuine. I am committed. Please vote for me on October 15, 2022. Show less
