I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling and National Certification for Counseling. I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy and worked as a Board Certified Music Therapist in a variety of settings. I have more than 15 years of experience providing assessment and treatment for individuals from diverse populations. I have worked in a settings including the Veterans Health Administration, the public school system, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric facilities, eating disorders clinic, community mental health facilities, cancer support organization, community mental health agencies, and the Department of Corrections. I have experience with individual, group, and couples counseling, substance abuse, trauma, and rehabilitation counseling, case management, and program development. With an Adlerian theoretical basis and the integration of multiple theories and approaches, my goal is to individualize treatment and assist others in gaining personal insight and awareness, develop effective coping skills, and build on personal strengths to create their own meaningful and sustainable solutions to life's challenges.I am also a Certified Special Education Teacher and Certified Music Teacher for the public school setting. I taught special education and gifted education at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I served for 17 years as the Music Director for a local theatre organization providing music instruction and directing for musical productions.
