About Ciro Coelho

Coelho has traveled the world over while working in different fields of photography, including advertising, fashion, photojournalism, sports, architectural, fine art, and travel/adventure. His images have been featured in numerous books and publications on four continents. In the U.S., they include The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Luxe, Interior Design, Architectural Record, Robb Report, California Homes, and Sunset Magazine, among others.At 23, Coelho decided to pursue photography as a career and went on to apprentice for years with renowned photographers in Brazil. In his late 20s, he was hired as an assistant-editor of photography at Folha de S. Paulo, the largest circulation newspaper in that country, where he developed a passion for photographing indoor Volleyball. In the 90s, Coelho was sent on assignment to the U.S., Italy, Greece, and Japan to cover international tournaments for Brazilian news agencies.In 1996, he made Santa Barbara into his home. In the U.S., his passion for the big cities and the urban environment made architectural photography an organic career evolution, and for the last twenty years, has been his most successful and renowned specialty. Now, in his 50s, the rekindling of a childhood love of motorcycles met his love of nature, adventure, and the open road, and inspired Inward Ride, his recent 97-day journey/road-trip/sabbatical that took place between August and November of 2019.Coelho’s work can be seen online at CiroCoelho.com and InwardRide.com.
