Had overall responsibility for the organisation and campaigns of the Labour Party in the East of England, covering 58 parliamentary constituencies and almost 45,000 members. Responsibilities and achievements include:• Development of the strategic aims of the party within the region and deployment of resources to support political and electoral objectives. Three new Labour MPs were elected in the region at the 2017 General Election and there was a significant increase in the Labour vote share.• Management of key internal and external stakeholder relationships including with elected representatives, trade unions and other affiliated organisations, community and business groups.• Line management of a team of seven staff including campaigns and communications professionals. • Control of a six-figure self-funded budget and development of an income strategy which secured more than £75,000 to support strategic aims in the year before the 2017 General Election.• Delivery of major events, including campaign visits from senior national politicians like the Leader of the Labour Party and an annual Regional Conference.
