I am working as a professional teaching assistant in the art history course Major Works of Western Art (HUM 202). My responsibilities are as follow: conducting discussion sessions with students, having office hours, grading exams, reports, and homework; proctoring exams, arranging course-related activities.

As a museum collections intern, I worked on the painting collection of the Sabancı Museum. My responsibilities varied from editing the museum’s database using the TMS Software, linked to digital SSM, and working and writing on several paintings in the collection. Furthermore, I took place in the preparation of the “David Hockney: Arrival of the Spring, Normandy, 2022” exhibition (May 11- June 29, 2022, mainly working on the translations of the documentaries shown throughout the exhibition.

As one of the research collaborators that worked on the digital exhibition project “Nordic Tales-Byzantine Paths,” my research has focused on tracing the artistic connections between theNorthern World and Byzantine Empire and their reflection in the Northern Church Art; I have listed the ‘connective’ examples and created entries for each. This exhibition project was prepared as a part of the 24th International Congress of Byzantine Studies and presented to the audience during the congress that took place on August 2022 in Venice and Padua, with the support of Koç University Stavros Niarchos Foundation Center for Late Antique and Byzantine Studies (GABAM) and the Swedish Research Institute in Istanbul (SRII).

As a graduate representative, I was responsible for being a bridge between faculty members and students to forward the opinions and ideas of both to each other, having weekly meetings, creating polls and lists and attending to faculty meetings.

As a research assistant, I worked on the “Istanbul City Walls” project that provides a detailed inventory of the city walls while focusing on different aspects such as the representations of the city walls in art, city walls and Yeşilçam movies, as well as their historical, political and cultural contexts. My responsibility was to check and edit the texts and the translations provided on the project’s website.

This online internship is a product of the collaboration between Koç University’s Department of Archaeology and History of Art and the CDSAB- Centro di Documentazione di Storia dell’Arte Bizantina at Sapienza – Dipartimento SARAS. During my internship, I created entries and edited the database of the Center of Documentation of Byzantine Art History.
