I am an industry veteran with over 30 years in the IT industry specializing in Information Security, Risk and Compliance Management. My experience is broad and includes executive-level security program management. I've held positions as CSO, CISO, Dir of IT Security and other senior level security program management roles.My career includes 17 years with the US Intelligence Community including long stints at NSA and CIA. After my federal career I moved into the commercial sector as a consultant where I successfully led security practices for several firms.In 2006 I launched the CSO Breakfast Club- a peer-to-peer network for information security executives from large organizations. The organization was re-branded to the CISO Executive Network in 2011 and now has over 2000 members across 26 chapters in the US hosting nearly 240 events per year.I co-authored the book “Security Planning & Disaster Recovery” with former Fortrex CTO Eric Maiwald and authored numerous articles for paper and on-line magazines. I earned a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and a Masters Degree in Technical Management from Johns Hopkins University.
