I setup a DJ company to service High River and area for weddings, schools, birthdays and much more! I have developed and expanded the company over the years to now service up to three events on any given night. Although this is a part-time business, it has allowed me to have a paying hobby. It has also allowed me the pleasure of working with my wife, brother and other family members.

During my time with High River Autoplex I fine-tuned my sales and consulting skills. Having the ability to communicate effectively I focused on both new and existing Sales opportunities selling RV and Automobiles. I developed a very Customer Centric Sales methodology to empower the buyers, focus on the quality of the products and build confidence in those products. Effective Sales resulted by ensuring the buyer met their goals and I satisfied all their needs in the product. The Sales cycle also included following the product from forecourt through all the appropriate areas of the business to ensure a final satisfactory walk through with the client to ensure they could comfortably operate their new purchase.

Joined a startup company, I was their first full time employee. As the company grew rapidly so did my roles and responsibilities. Initially I operated CNC machinery but soon took on more responsibilities with several roles. I mastered all the technical aspects of product development and service delivery and implemented staff training/quality programs. Becoming the Business Service Manager my responsibilities then also included recruitment, training, pre and post sales support, office management and implementation of cost saving initiatives. As the Office Manager I was responsible for decision making on office products, IT equipment and IP Telephony including the support and configuration of a Cisco SOHO IP Telephony System.Reporting directly to the company owners I was responsible for the full operation of United Wood Products, which included product line, tools, maintenance and employee management.

Starting from a foundation in pallet distribution I identified a business opportunity providing not only pallets but also manpower to very large food distribution warehouses. Operating in a 24/7/365 environment All Labour had Sales of over $1,000.000. My duties as the owner involved all the operational and management aspects of delivering effective labour sometimes on demand in time sensitive environments, where product has only limited shelf life. Ensuring manpower forecasts were developed; shift rotations worked out and suitable hard working staff recruited and trained. As the owner operator employing over 20 staff I developed a strong Leadership style and became effectively a good project manager constantly working on scoping work, cost estimation, resource planning, risks and meeting business requirements.

Having seen an opening in the market for Pallet Repair, I started a company to service the needs of one customer. At first I would collect un-used pallets from around the Calgary and area, but over time grew customers that have large volumes of pallets coming to the final destination. The business grew rapidly, with the need to employ up to 5 staff at certain times of the year to meet demands.
