Masters degree project in the domain of high speed parallel robotics. Elastodynamic modelling and trajectory design for minimizing unwanted vibratory phenomena in the use of delta robots for high speed pick and place operations.

Design and implementation of sensor and actuator infrastructure for an autonomous vehicle (LandRover Defender). Automation done for clutch, gear, break and throttle systems. Festo automation products used, with a PC104 computer for the control.The Research Assistant position followed from my bachelor's thesis in the autonomous control of a LandRover defender. I worked independently and reported to Head of Vehicles Laboratory at the University of Pretoria.All work was documented for future researchers. The project involved the streamlining and integration of the various control systems installed by the Autonomous Vehicles Team of which I was part in 2008.The project made use of Festo pneumatic actuators, and also involved the manufacturing of basic electronic circuit boards and other hardware components.Automation and Control, Turbo Pascal Programming, Milling, Turning

Worked under young dynamic medical engineering staff. Designed and expanded various ranges of surgical implants for wrist fractures and spinal implants. The modelling was done in Solid Edge and part drawings were made for manufacture. Assembly and commissioning of a fatigue rig, including mechanical components and data capturing devices, for evaluating the in vivo lifespan of spinal implants.

SRK Consulting is a practice offering advice and solutions in the mining, earth and water resource industriesWrote a standalone Visual Basic.Net based computer program for open cast mining slope design.The program was a small standalone tool for open cast mine designers. The program generated the contours of the mine based on user input presents the result visually. Coordinates could also be exported for use in other software.
