I joined GEW Technologies, which is now a business unit of Hensoldt South Africa, in the Hardware Engineering department to continue the research & development of sophisticated mobile phone and software-defined multi-role Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) jammers. The products I work on are qualified to military standards and primarily used for land applications in the Electronic Warfare environment.As a Product Development Engineer, I am heavily involved in the product development process of various different electronic attack (EA) and electronic defense (ED) product units, which form part of a variety of Signal Intelligence Solutions for international clients. I oversee and assist in the development of jammer products from their concept design, through prototyping and up to final qualification. I am responsible for the engineering of various electronic modules which includes the schematic design, review, requisition of components and management of assembly thereof. I often host and join in on design review sessions with other engineers and technicians, and have conducted environmental stress screening and HALT to ensure that that my products meet the company's high quality standards (ISO 9001:2015).I am also the Social Committee representative for the Hardware Engineering department.
