Volunteer And Intern
New York, New York
I operated under the supervision of Paul Palestis, PT. This was an out-patient clinic which saw a variety of patients. I shadowed physical therapists in the office to learn the ins and outs of physical therapy beginning the winter break of my Freshman year in college. As I shadowed more, I learned more about the field, and grew an appreciation for the importance of human movement. This experience shaped my future career choice and lead me to learn more about exercise, health, and physical therapy. I would return for an internship the following summer to intern as a physical therapy aide. I observed physical therapists treat patients with modalities, exercises, massage therapy, electrical stimulation, and various other interventions at the office. I completed my internship and returned to volunteer during breaks throughout my undergraduate career, learning more, and growing as a professional.
