I have been working as a researhcer, trainer and consultant in the field of corrections for the past 25 years. I have trained hundreds of correctional and treatment staff across dozens of states in the areas of risk and need assessment, program evaluation, cognitive behavioral interventions, and evidence based practices. I also conduct evaluations of correctional programs and provide general consulting on a variety of topics in adult and juvenile corrections. I have developed actuarial risk assessment tools and designed correctional interventions for both juveneils and adults. About the 5 years ago, my scope broadened into community engagment and DEIB work. The skills and knowlege i have gained over the years has been instrumental in my success in those arenas as well.After earning my PhD in criminal justice, I was employed as a professor for ten years. I taught in the areas of corrections, juvenile justice, criminology, gangs, drugs, research methods and statistics. Specialties: staff training, program evaluation, risk assessment (development and validation), gender-specific correctional programming, juvenile justice, effective correctional interventions, evidence-based practices, research and evaluation, statistical analysis, survey development and administartaion, community engagment, DEIB.
