A Corporal of 1st Battalion, 8th Marines who through the intense Assessment & Selection process was indoctrinated into a 26-man Scout Sniper Platoon where he served as the Lead Communicator and Certified Joint Fires Observer in the following scenarios,Combat Deployment to Kajaki, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom:- Prepared and equipped communication for 3 Scout Sniper Teams in support of varying mission types.- Responsible for acquiring and maintaining communication with Command, Infantry, Air Support, Intelligence, and other support elements while remotely operating as an 8-man team in enemy territory.- Conducted several day or night 24-48 hour air insertions into enemy territory.- Assisted in the collection and reporting of intelligence through surveillance and reconnaissance by method of observation and photography.Unit Deployment to Okinawa, Japan:- Maintained deployment readiness through training exercises across the island of Okinawa.- Prepared and deployed communication applications in different terrain types with limited resources.Company Tour to South Korean DMZ:- Condition and trained ROK Marines in methods of engagement and operational techniques similar to United States Marine Corps methods.
