I did not grow up in a family of “luxury travelers.” My dad was in the Army and we moved often. When we lived in Germany for several years, my parents would pack us up in the station wagon Dad had shipped over and drive us all over Europe. European streets were not made for large American station wagons and we received lots of stares and head shaking. Luxury travel this was not!The first time I experienced luxury travel was on a visit to China—and it showed me how relaxing, rejuvenating, and inspiring a journey could really be. It wasn’t so much the extra “things” they provided—it was the smile on their faces, the willingness of everyone to answer questions, their local knowledge, and their thoughtfulness. I’m sure problems came up as they tried to manage 20 Congressional staffers, but we never knew about them because they worked diligently behind the scenes to keep our trip running smoothly. All we had to do was relax and enjoy once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences—like a train ride through Tibet on the highest railway in the world.From this trip—and my 30 years planning travel for political VIPs—I learned the importance of attending to the smallest details and proactively avoiding potential problems to make a trip run smoothly. Little personal touches and having someone to turn to when something went wrong eased the stress on weary travelers. Today, I want to share my love of travel and help others check off their travel bucket list. Running my own luxury travel agency allows me to use my years of travel experience, passion for customer service, and network of local suppliers to design unique travel experiences for you.
