In joining Now TV, my mandate was to help an existing team to deliver a new application stack to production, grow the team to deliver a more demanding roadmap, coach the team and their stakeholders in their Agile practices, develop and launch a new website to support a new product launch and marketing campaign, and to coach and develop the individuals within my team to achieve their personal development goals.I achieved this by helping my team to focus on building the right thing as efficiently as possible. Working with the Product Owner, I implemented improvements to the team's Agile way of working by visualising everything, introducing more effective ceremonies, revising our process to include shorter feedback loops and defining definitions of ready for each step of the development process. I'm passionate about incorporating design functions into the product team, and was able to bring UX and design into the team and into the sprint.I was told by my team that they've never had so much fun in retrospectives before our time together. I take pride in facilitating effective, inclusive and fun retrospectives targeted on different themes/topics raised by the team. In my time working with this team I facilitated retros targeted at TDD, Kanban, Team Spirit, Process, Health Checks, and many other topics.Within this role I also co-developed and ran an in-house Agile Coaching training session, based on my own certification, which has now been run with over 50 internal participants.

As a Scrum Master and Agile Coach within sky.com, I led a revolutionary small team to build and deploy a cutting edge eCommerce application, which delivered huge returns to our stakeholders by targeting and tailoring upgrade journeys for existing customers. I helped drive a transformation from component to feature-based teams and assembled a new team to deliver a high volume transactional sales journey to support a large and strategic above the line marketing campaign. I also took on the role of the Agile Coach of a new team to deliver the largest product launch in Sky's history, backed by the largest marketing campaign ever seen in the UK; Sky Q Fluid Viewing. My cross-functional team took ownership of the user experience, design, development, test and deployment of the online marketing site and eCommerce journeys to support the launch of Sky Q to market.Within this position I took a key role in evolving our scaled Agile approach to following the Spotify model of Tribes/Squads/Chapters/Guilds, to help build a truly dynamic and Agile software development department.

As an Agile technical analyst I was responsible for ensuring that my development team had clear requirements and acceptance criteria. I worked with my product owner to refine and prioritise the backlog, wrote user stories and defined acceptance criteria in BDD. I also defined interfaces with backend platforms, managed dependencies across teams and environments and helped my QAs to validate the software.In this role I learned the power of short feedback loops, why just in time and just enough helps a team to go faster, and how less really can be more with an MVP.

Within this role I incorporated leadership, mentoring and training into my business analysis role to lead small teams of business analysts on large scale technology projects. In this role I also extended my expertise into user experience design and produced detailed interactive prototypes using Balsamiq to illustrate and support functional specifications for the Home Move project. This project won an award for team collaboration and was the first time in Sky's history that a fully automated process for moving customers' triple play package from one home to another had been implemented.

Working as a business analyst within the business integration function, I delivered numerous large scale, cross platform Broadband and Telephony projects spanning multiple streams of the business. By collaborating with a wide array of stakeholders and technology teams I delivered numerous analysis artefacts including requirements catalogues, business processes, functional specifications (use cases), user interface specifications and non-functional specifications, within both Agile and Waterfall environments. I also added value by representing analysis in design and architecture activities, working closely with the design, development and test teams across simultaneous delivery to multiple sales platforms with several external vendors and offshore teams. I developed my leadership skills by taking a senior role within the team to mentor and guide junior members, shape the analysis approach and to overhaul the structure of the deliverables produced by the team.

Delivered first-level telephone support for several hundred applications; designed a reporting prototype, authored a detailed report and implemented recommendations resulting in a 25% reduction in the volume of incidents raised against a problematic group of applications within one month. Business Analyst - BT Corporate Super Technology. Performed system analysis and documentation and test support on a data integration project mastering adviser data between the central Westpac Customer Information System and BT product systems, covering analysis phase through to implementation. Analyst Programmer - Westpac Institutional Bank, Group Treasury. Developed system enhancements in Oracle PL/SQL and Unix; also performed Basel II system audit and authored relevant documentation.
