Hello! I grew up primarily in Cheyenne, Wyoming and have spent the last four years living in Laramie as a student at the University of Wyoming. A proud Poke, my current academic career is focused on attaining a BA in History and a minor in Museum Studies, though I have experience in Art, English/Literature, and Political Science as well. Having worked in the service industry for nearly six years, I happily put in every effort to build my way up in my previous company and to learn skills which I have taken to heart, which will help me thrive in my future endeavors. Having experienced work as a crew member, a trainer, and a manager, I have experienced a range of positions and responsibilities. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity which guided me through the end of high school and most of my college career. Now, my work is focused on working within my ideal career fields. A temporary exhibit on the Golden Age of Piracy which my elementary school visited over a decade ago at the Denver Natural History Museum kicked off a deep interest in museums and the study of history. The history of people, politics, and civilization has completely enraptured me. I also hope to dig a bit more into art history, and even archeology and anthropology. I adore studying the history of Earth's formation and previous inhabitants just as I am enamored with picking apart each period of modern history and the dominoes which led to our current political, social, scientific, and artistic landscapes.Future hopes beyond my graduation are many. I love to consider all the possible paths I can take, and rarely fail to imagine a life that doesn't make me thrilled. A secondary BA is one of my current considerations, likely focusing on Political Science and a minor in Art History or Geology. A Museum Studies or History MA would also be ideal- and the list of thesis ideas I have is ever growing. Finally, I hope to work within any sort of museum or public park or service. Whether working in archives, with the public as an educator and guide, and exhibit designer, or any other position, there are few career opportunities I find to feel as promising and rewarding. Every niche subject of history from the history of science, to the history of transportation, the history of society, and much more, serves to help connect us with our pasts and to better understand our modern lives. To spend my career helping bring that experience to others and to help preserve the past would be an absolute dream!
