I provide general counsel services and legal advice regarding privacy, regulatory compliance, government contracting, risk management, and civil and administrative litigation to the Vermont Agency of Human Services, Department of Health, its constituent offices and divisions, and its approximately 400 employees. In my privacy role, I have developed Department- and Agency-wide policies and procedures regarding HIPAA compliance in contracting, responding to legal requests, and healthcare communications.Specific programs I advise include the following divisions of the Department of Health:- Board of Medical Practice- Environmental Health- Health Statistics & Informatics- Health Operations Center & Emergency Response- Laboratory Science & Infectious Disease- Office of the Chief Medical ExaminerI also provide coverage to the Civil Division of the Attorney General's Office on civil litigation matters.
