Community concerns include aircraft overflights of densely-populated areas during departure. For both 14 CFR Part 150 studies: Led analysis of noise reduction strategies and production of detailed documents to meet federal regulatory requirements. Also distilled technical details of aircraft noise into content easily understood by policymakers and the general public during presentations and workshops.Project Director and air traffic expert for the Santa Clara/Santa Cruz Roundtable. Backup facilitator and air traffic expert for the LAX Community Roundtable, which ESA facilitated until 2020. Roundtables are collaborations between airports operators, communities, the FAA, and aircraft operators to identify and implement aircraft noise reductions.Oversaw aircraft noise modeling for the JFK Runway 13L-31R runway rehabilitation project EA. Member of AEE-300: FAA Office of Environment and Energy (AEE) Emissions Division.Directed software development tasks executed by 4 organizations to create AEDT Version 2b, which replaced the Integrated Noise Model (INM) and Emissions and Dispersion Modeling System (EDMS) for aviation environmental regulatory compliance. AEDT is now the FAA's required model for aviation environmental analysis across the United States.Improved AEDT 2b National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) guidance by refining AEDT emissions and air quality modeling requirements in FAA Order 1050.1F and the FAA Order 1050.1F Desk Reference.Raised public awareness of AEDT through presentations at multiple aviation environmental conferences.Enhanced AEDT 2b quality control and user engagement by guiding a rigorous implementation of the customer-focused Scrum software development methodology. Oversaw production of 58 functional sprint releases and 9 beta releases to beta testers.Oversaw the release of AEDT Version 2a as well as the development and launch of the AEDT website at aedt.faa.gov. Strengthened FAA air traffic NEPA compliance capabilities by managing development of AEDT Version 2a software updates that improved functionality and usability.Managed the production of EDMS Version 5.1.4.1, the last version of EDMS to be released before being replaced by AEDT Version 2b. EDMS was the FAA's required aviation emissions model from the 1980s to May 29, 2015.Co-managed the production of the FAA's Aviation Emissions and Air Quality Handbook Version 3, including substantial updates to text referencing regulatory compliance and environmental analysis tools. This Handbook is now used for guidance in aviation air quality modeling for NEPA projects across the United States.Managed three air quality and human health research projects under the Partnership for Air Transportation Noise and Emissions Reduction (PARTNER projects 11, 16, 33), leading to the publication of several journal articles.

Employed the US EPA's Environmental Benefits Mapping and Analysis Tool (BenMAP) to estimate the potential health impacts of commercial aviation on air quality and human health in the United States under different aircraft emissions control policy options, including monetized costs of adverse health outcomes. Produced custom analysis tools and methodologies under supervision of the Federal Aviation Administration's Office of Environment and Energy.

Developed a software aircraft motion simulator to explore flight simulation methods. Presented the simulator and results at American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics conference. Published a manuscript for the conference.Created three flight simulation homework assignments and solutions for an advanced dynamics course in MIT's Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Evaluated the feasibility of using FLUENT commercial computational fluid dynamics software to model turbulence in earth’s atmosphere boundary layer. Produced a manuscript containing the results for the Von Karman Institute's technical library.
