Lecturer in the Gerontology Program, focusing on the interplay between policy development and program delivery in Long-Term Care and Community Support services; the importance of appropriate strategies and tactics in political advocacy for changes in policies and programs affecting an aging population; the implications of an aging population on Canadian society.

I developed a governance framework utilized by other seniors groups in Ontario; developed policy and program development advice at the local, provincial and federal levels as well as in the private sector, bringing the perspective of seniors to each; developed financially accountable and administratively transparent practices that allowed for a smooth change management process in the transformation of this non-profit organization into an operation of the City of Greater Sudbury during the City's amalgamation.

Coordinated projects involving planning and architectural components for a variety of clients - redeveloped churches; developed Emergency Response Systems for at risk residents in social housing; developed accessibility standards for the Province of Ontario; undertook long-term care facility planning and design including functional programming.

I provided research and administrative support and advice to two public appointment bodies that provided broad policy and program advice to the Social Policy Field, Government of Ontario on seniors' issues and issues related to persons with disabilities. I was responsible for overall administration, budgeting and research on issues related to these two advisory bodies.
