As Projects Coordinator at Delta Corporation Limited, my role is to coordinate precast manufacturing shop drawing and detailing for the production team, keep track of internal production vs site progress to ensure products are available when required, and planning the delivery of units to site.This involves liaising with all stakeholders of the project on a multitude of technical levels and abilities, working through design and detailing issues, time management and planning of pre and post production processes, site visits, design and operational workshops, technical troubleshooting for various project principles, operational planning and monitoring, and any unorthodox project specific requirements that may and will develop dependant on the project.The projects scale from small domestic properties with prestressed hollowcore floors planks right through to large 120+ tonne MRWA T-Roff beams.

Working in a design and detailing role, I had some fantastic opportunities to work on the Water Corporation's infrastructure including steelwork access structures, valve pits, pipeline bypasses, plant housing (steel frame warehouses) and access tracks. This included design for a multiple of engineering principles and detailing to suit the Australian Standards for detailing as well as the Water Corporations own standards. Our work involved travelling to regional areas such as Karratha and towns within the Goldfields region, performing site inspections to drawn up scope of works, specifications, design drawings, calculations, SWMS's and JSEA's and general engineering reporting.

Working with a range of stakeholders I designed temporary traffic plans for site works in conformance with AS 1742.3 and the MRWA CoP for traffic management. This role involved reading and interpreting client design drawings, ascertaining the temporary site size and geometry in relation to local road networks and designing and detailing (AutoCAD) Traffic Management Plans and traffic control drawings respectively to accommodate. This role involved working closely with mid-tier contractors, Local Governing Authorities and Main Roads Western Australia. This role was also heavily focused on operational input such as providing all necessary information of the project to the operation team/schedulers to ensure personnel and equipment were readily available for every project.

My role involves a range of projects from small residential right through to large commercial refurbishments and developments. I cover all aspects of structural design, being able to model and detail structural elements in numerous materials such as concrete, steel, timber and masonry. Analysis and design of elements are performed using TEDDS and detailing is produced on AutoCAD. At present, throughout projects I am involved from the initial meetings with my clients through to design calculations, structural reports & surveys, general arrangement drawings, specifications/details and site queries during construction. I continue to research various technical aspects of analysis and design in my free time and am working on a portfolio of works to support my goal of becoming an Incorporated member of the ICE in the near future.

Upon that I have been promoted to Technical Services Engineer and after some more project work/experience both on and off of site, have been promoted to Bridge Technical Sales Engineer, My role included basic site surveys, design checks on existing equipment against various vehicle load models, general arrangement drawings for site installations, fabrication drawings for new equipment, basic calculations for new equipment using CADS and finally acquiring a Managerial and Professional CSCS card along with becoming a qualified Crane Appointed Person for Lifting Operations, accredited by both the CITB and NPORS, meaning I was qualified to carry out this role on all sites.
