During my 3-month internship, I played a pivotal role in preparing for the release of the PageOS 6 Software update by resolving more than 30 reported bugs and fulfilling numerous UI enhancement requests. I developed software to recover from crash loops on the verification rig and handle monitor-side 3D LUT calibration.Additionally, I designed and implemented a dynamic live status dashboard to monitor the operational status of over 70 monitors on the verification rig, enhancing bug detection by 10%. I created a database to store all monitor test results for comprehensive analysis on the dashboard, and I integrated our internal Jenkins server seamlessly into the UI for an enhanced automated testing process.

I am collaborating with CS PhD candidate Rickard Stureborg to analyze historical trends in vaccine-related text using lightweight BERT language models. Our goal is to compile and publish a large dataset of labeled vaccine-related text for use in academic and industry research.I created a vaccine relevance classifier and a multi-label classifier using knowledge distillation techniques from ChatGPT, and the classifiers achieved F1 scores of 96.0% and 53.0% respectively, comparable to GPT-4’s performance. Additionally, I am developing of a demo website that showcases these classifiers with real-time predictions and visualizations of their outputs.

As a part of the CS+ program at Duke, I worked with a team led by professors Dr. Bhuwan Dhingra and Dr. Jun Yang to investigate the potential for large language models such as GPT-4 to combat vaccine misinformation. Since then, we published Tailoring Vaccine Messaging with Common-Ground Opinions to the NAACL Findings 2024. I implemented a Jinja2 Parser to visualize HTML files, and iteratively analyzed ChatGPT responses for prompt engineering. I also designed an annotation interface for MTurk data collection, and analyzed data from initial surveys for prompt refinement.
