Developing the world's most innovative laser-based light sources for automotive, biomedical, research, and AR/VR applications. Work includes GaN laser chip design and process development with both technical and project management/project lead responsibilities. Working to bring high-performance and custom GaN chips from concept, to prototype, to product by understanding customer requirements and system-level constraints. As a member of the process engineering team, I also directly contribute to process sustaining, equipment, capital/procurement, and operational aspects of our R&D facilities.

Building the next generation of deep ultraviolet LED technology with applications in low-cost, portable air and water purification. Experience includes MOCVD III-N growth, advanced materials characterization, GaN device fabrication, and LED testing/analysis.

Ithaca, New York Area

Lithography and fabrication of novel oxide and magnetic materials grown by MBE, at the Cornell Nanoscale Science and Technology Facility (CNF). Magnetic and electrical characterization using PPMS at cryogenic temperatures. Preparing samples for MBE processing: cleaning, etching, wet chemical processing, and annealing. Also worked on repairing and re-aligning a four-circle x-ray diffractometer.

Improved Nd-227 yield from 10% to 90%. Optimized synthesis processes for polycrystalline and single-crystal oxide materials exhibiting unconventional magnetic behavior. Gained experience in characterization of these oxide compounds using XRD, MPMS/SQUID, and other techniques.

Las Cruces, New Mexico Area

Published research on spinel, an oxide material of interest for electronics and photovoltaic applications. This research was a collaborative effort, and I travelled to Sandia National Lab (CINT user facility), NREL, and the JA Woollam Company to take the large amount of data needed for this project. I presented this research in New Mexico, Washington DC, at Cornell, and at an international conference (ICSE) in Kyoto, Japan.
