At News America Marketing I was able to implement reporting tools to help management and negotiators quickly review activity for over 2,000 vendors. Aggregating data from many different sources, a complete view of vendor financial activity was created. By consistently reviewing processes, financial reporting gained accuracy and visibility. Partnering with technology, finance, production and many other departments, we were always striving for and obtaining increased efficiency!

I was recruited by a Finance Director to stand in as her substitute while she was on extended leave. While there, my responsibilities included managing the finances of multiple domestic and international business areas. I was able to balance the day to day operations while simultaneously identifying and implementing much needed process improvements. In addition to the improvements, the assignment involved revenue and expense management, monthly close reporting, management reporting, forecasting and budgeting, and accounts payable. I successfully managed relationships with senior level executives in multiple departments and countries.

I led the 20 person department responsible for media billing for all Publicis advertising agencies utilizing shared financial services. Our services covered 34% of the North American advertising industry with over 20 major advertising agencies and their global clients.

While at Amex Publishing, I was responsible for running the department that handled all customer financial data. This entailed all advertising booking, invoicing and records for four international publications and their related websites and products. We serviced over 2,000 customers averaging $250-$300 million annually in invoicing. Part of the process included reviewing all contracts and orders before authorizing fulfillment, with particular attention to credit worthiness and financial liability. In addition to keeping client facing records, I provided billing reporting for client records, revenue recognition, and salesperson compensation.

I was the manager for both client communications and internal computer communication system for this healthcare consulting firm. I prepared proposals and presentations, created copy and graphics for print advertisements, and secured media placements. I also maintained the client database, prepared sales reports and monitored competitive activity. Led staff of two direct reports.
