About Chiraphone Khamphouvong

Chiraphone Khamphouvong escaped the secret war in Lao PDR in 1980, became a refugee in the camps of Thailand, and an immigrant with my family of 12 to the United States in 1982. With 25+ years and 35+ countries of international service, Chiraphone is serving back in her homeland as a global educator and practitioner towards a more sustainable, decolonizing, and integrative transformational development. In 2018, as the visionary developer and founder, Chiraphone launched Impact Beyond Borders, a grassroots movement of strategic development approaches with Lao PDR’s education, heritage, and service opportunities. Since 2018, Chiraphone has been serving as Program Advisor with World Renew Laos, focusing on rural sustainable livelihood development. As of 1 October 2022, her new role as Asia Regional Safeguarding & Social Inclusion will focus on strengthening and supporting the capacity of World Renew Asia in Laos, Cambodia, Bangladesh, and India.
