- Co-founded C Squared to create Photosmith for iPad to compliment the workflow of professional photographers. The app was borne out of the need to effectively manage images on an iPad without the need to transport a computer to a shooting location.- The app was intensive in many areas: raw data processing, heavily threaded to make use of multiple cores, optimized to use the GPU for display. Built in Objective-C and Lua.- The website and distributed updates were all hosted on EC2 instances, allowing us to scale up/down as needed following product releases and media attention. A solution to expand the service into a cloud-based offering was scoped and architected, but never implemented.- The app generated over $500k in sales and was unique in the mobile market for the four years of product life. I co-led a team based around the world and created partnerships with Adobe, Seagate, and others in the industry, and obtained necessary trademarks and patents.

- MedQuest operated approximately 100 medical imaging centers and hundreds of MR, CTs, and other imaging devices across the US. I served as Senior Architect for numerous enterprise C#/.Net and iOS projects, designing and creating software to manage hundreds of terabytes of imaging data.- Projects required architecting a HIPAA compliant solution for enterprise server infrastructure, scalable software, and tight integration with legacy systems. I served as consultant to both the network operations and software development teams. - Many projects were implemented to successfully replace expensive PACS systems with faster and customized DICOM management solutions, scoped to handle billions of images per year, resulting in millions of dollars per year in lowered operational costs.

In cooperation with WebTransit, a Microsoft cluster with external fibre channel RAID was combined with a two-node load balanced web server cluster so that a complete redundant system would be in place, saving thousands in yearly costs in the event of unplanned downtime and scheduled upgrades.

Advanced scripting was needed throughout the site to accommodate non-standard data retrieval, custom data layouts, and other client-specific needs. The resulting site was on-line ahead of schedule. Perl and TeamSite/OpenDeploy were used exclusively.
