As part of the Global Cloud Collaboration Hub (CCH) team, the aim is to provide multivendor environment integration service to enable end-to-end automation in Telco and IT Cloud as well as public and hybrid cloud. The integration service includes plugins, adapters, descriptors, APIs, etc, to enable integration of different platforms and systems. As Chief Architect, my role entails:- Working closely with the sales and pre-sales teams in validating architecture design and leveraging on CCH and Global Services to address the challenges of integration and automation - Determine requirements from hardware, software and resource perspective for customer POCs- Ensure successful POCs are carried out - Work with Global Delivery teams to scope integration services from a Data Center and Cloud perspectiveThe following are areas of involvement and expertise::- NFVI Design and Staging Automation: leveraging on internal automation tools to dimension what hardware is suitable for the required NFVs with modelling capabilities. The staging automation tools include the ability to automate the installation of cloud stacks and hypervisors (KVM/VMware) using Ansible playbooks- VNF dimensioning and end-to-end automated testing software leveraging on Jenkins and Robot framework- MANO automation: Introducing end-to-end automation in service deployments requiring multiple VNFs and network services using the full ETSI MANO stack from NFVO, VNFM and VIM with the necessary VNFDs and NSDs. The VNFs can be Nokia or third-party where onboard is required (IMS, EPC, etc). The end-to-end automation includes SDN (Nuage/NSX/ODL), WAN SDN and IPAM tools- The SDN automation include SDWANs and service-chaining of required NFVs in distributed environment- Security capabilities leveraging on micro-segmentation, centralised security policy management and IAM solutions (Nokia or third-party)

In this role, I have been responsible for evangelizing not only Brocade's Ethernet Fabric (EF) solution but also software networking, in the areas of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV). Some of my experience in this role entails the following:- Engaging with customers (Enterprise and Service Providers), especially with senior-level people to educate them on SDN and NFV, their benefits and use cases- Speak in public events on Ethernet Fabric, SDN and NFV- Position the importance of the physical underlay which the VCS can provide to the software networking layer on the upper layer- Position Brocade's SDN solution in the Vyatta Controller based on the open-sourced OpenDaylight- Position Brocade's NFV solution including the Vyatta vRouter, a software-based router/firewall and SteelApp, a software-based ADC- Working with integration partners to roll out demos on integrating Brocade's Vyatta Controller (ODL), NFV, Openstack, and Brocade's switches and routers to demonstrate what automation is really about- Demonstrate the importance of the Brocade underlay with VMware's NSX solution- Work with storage OEM partners like EMC, HDS and HP on the value proposition of Brocade's Data Center switches with their offerings
