About Christopher Koerber, Phd
My curiosity drove me to become a physicist; I enjoy exploring uncharted territories and solving unfathomed problems. For this reason, one of my research interests is to connect known phenomena to ideas for new physics—like constraining notions for Dark Matter with current experiments. Practically, I program simulations of quantum processes. This software is usually designed for high-performance computers and produces vast amounts of statistical output. Consequently, job and data management, as well as statistical analysis, are parts of my weekly routine.I believe that teaching and communicating science are equally important as the research itself.This drove me to assume lecturing positions, integrate new eLearning elements in traditional lectures, and promote young researchers' interdisciplinary projects as part of the research school board in Bochum. Lastly, I strongly support open-source development.
