As Group CFO I was responsible for Finance, HR and corporate affairs at Ydigital in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. This included being responsible for the financial health of Ydigital, for producing financial reports and developing strategies and for guiding the management team and relevant staff in making sound business decisions in the long and short run. I created reports to the board and in charge of finance reporting at the half-yearly board meetings. In addition, as Group CFO I was responsible for HR which includes hiring, onboarding/offboarding, strategic HR issues, etc. Responsibility also included admin and corporate affairs including contact with corporate secretaries, legal affairs, tax issues, auditors, etc.

Greater Jakarta Area, Indonesia

Part-time consultancy to assist the Embassies of Denmark to Nepal & Indonesia with closure of its development activities. Tasks included monitoring missions to partners advising on closure procedures, financial monitoring, drafting and sequencing of closure activities, coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsible for controlling activities across the entire portfolio of the Ministry. Tasks included controller visits to selected Embassies (4-5 annual controller visits), coordination with the National Audit Office (Rigsrevisionen) on their audit of the Ministry, training activities for staff, revision of guidelines on the Ministry’s intranet (Sharepoint). Heading a team of 5 competent staff members, me and my team was responsible for the DKK 1.2 Billion budget of Copenhagen Business School. I was in charge of consolidating the annual budget, and provided management as well as the board with monthly/quarterly budget follow up reports. Responsible for monthly joint venture reporting to partners concerning the offshore wind farms in the UK, Denmark and Sweden. This includes close coordination of technical inputs concerning park performance, financial status, health/safety incidents and operational status of the wind park. In addition responsible for the budget process of the offshore wind farms. Many ad hoc tasks.

Responsible for financial management of the appropriations related to the running cost of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of approx. DKK 1.8 Billion. This includes development, follow up and adjustment of budgets at unit level.

Carried out missions primarily for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure effective financial management of programmes and projects. Carried out missions in Afghanistan, Tanzania, Ghana, South Korea and Egypt.

Afghanistan, Kabul

Posted in Afghanistan, Kabul, as an anti corruption advisor to the Chief of Staff of the Afghan Ministry of Finance. This entailed development of strategies, procedures and competence development plans within anti corruption.

Responsible for ”performance reviews” (internal audits) at Danish Embassies in order to optimise and improve financial management. Carried out financial management competence development of all Ministry employees, approx., 50 courses in total. Approx. 100 travelling days per year.

Posted in Bangladesh and overall responsible for financial management of the annual budget of DKK 250 million. This included accounting control, monthly reporting, budget control and responsible for auditing of approx. 40 projects. Acting ambassador 5-6 weeks per year.
