Working in partnership with the Met Office to investigate how the future UK climate simulated by the EuroCORDEX ensemble of regional climate projections compares to the scenarios simulated by the Met Office's UKCP18 12km climate projections.

Developing a methodology to modify weather simulations to incorporate the predicted effects of climate change, without the need to re-run costly simulations from scratch

SECURE feasibility project evaluating the effects of catchment-sensitive farming- working in collaboration with the Environment Agency and industry partners to assess the feasibility of identifying effect of catchment-sensitive farming initiative on groundwater quality- responsible for data cleaning and collation; fitting and interpreting generalised linear models; presenting and explaining results to team; producing final report in collaboration with technical specialists.

In addition to the Business Intelligence duties undertaken as Administrative Systems Specialist:- managing a team of two administrators/analysts; my section was responsible for all sample/prototype orders, providing data analysis and company-wide systems support- recruitment and training of new staff – including the definition of a new role and creation of entirely new training materials- handover / succession plan and implementation of previous responsibilities as Administrative Systems SpecialistProjects and Achievements included:- created a centralised tool to allow all customer purchase orders to be stored, registered and approved via an automated process (previously a business risk due to absence of central storage)- created a set of template files to allow sales staff to create their annual sales plan data in a standard format with error checking, thus cutting the number of hours spent by around half and removing a number of persistent errors in the data- investigating local design requirements and impact of new ERP system for European offices

- responsible for Business Intelligence for the UK offices, developing Excel-based tools (VBA) to perform automatic analysis and reporting, and to support sales forecasting process- developing and producing reports for top management in the UK, throughout Europe and globally- responsible for investigating new systems implemented from the head office in Japan, producing English-language manuals to be used in offices globally- coordinating the UK offices’ annual Sales Plan, producing detailed reports and presenting data to company president/European top management Projects and achievements included:- was selected as one of the youngest attendees on the Regional Accelerated Program for Internal Development (a program designed to develop leadership abilities in assistant-manager-level staff from all sales offices and manufacturing locations across Europe)- created a tool to forecast stock levels and values for the next three months, and to perform stock simulations based on known incoming and outgoing orders, for all European sales offices- investigated ways to extract and analyse data more efficiently, resulting in all users being provided with drivers to download data directly into Excel via MSQuery so that queries could be refreshed by the end user, rather than relying on the admin department - leading to substantial time savings

- handling all sample/prototype orders for the UK sales offices- managing several customer ledgers, reconciling payments and chasing debts with customersProjects and achievements included:- set up a single, centralised tracking system to manage incoming and outgoing orders, linked to the company stock system- created automated downloads to allow electronic matching and submission of payment reconciliations, replacing a paper-based manual system- developed a method to extract data from the company's AS400-based stock and sales system and download it into Excel, where it could be analysed more efficiently
