I am a dedicated, well-respected and enthusiastic member of the Foundation Stage 2 teaching team in Amity International School in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As an FS2 Class Teacher, I have demonstrated secure knowledge of the British Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and an excellent understanding of early year’s pedagogy and best practice. I have succeeded in creating an engaging, stimulating and secure environment where the children can play, explore and express themselves with confidence. I have taken on the role of Phonics Leader in the department, supporting and monitoring the teaching of phonics and delivering workshops to parents about our approaches. This role reflects my passion and enthusiasm for the teaching of phonics. I have been a mentor to other teachers in the department and they have observed my teaching frequently and I regularly assist them with their class plans and assessments.My decision to teach in the UAE has given me a valuable international perspective in my understanding of the role of education. I have shown that I am adaptable to new, difficult and changing circumstances and that I am an open-minded, collaborative teacher and colleague.
