I am running for Atlanta City Council President and I need your support! Please come out and vote on November 3, 2009.I believe in the future of Atlanta. As we all know, Atlanta faces significant challenges that will require strong leadership over the next four years. While the issues seem large and difficult, I believe we have the will and energy to surmount them. What we need is strong leadership, the will to solve our problems and community support for the difficult tasks ahead. Building on my service on the Atlanta City Council, I have decided that the best way for me to contribute to our city's governance is to be your City Council President.I believe with my broad experience and demonstrated leadership, I can lead the Council to overcome these challenges. I believe I can help Council work together across all twelve districts, improve efficiency at City Hall, and prepare for Atlanta's economic recovery--for the betterment of our entire city. I believe we can and muct step up to the difficult changes that we must tackle during the next mayoral administration.I believe we need to make Atlanta truly sustainable for all our futures, insuring that we have the economic means to provide for our safety and welfare, that we insure that our resources and consumption are in balance, that we pay attention to the basics of quality delivery of services, that we strive for and achieve efficient and effective government government and that we maintain the collective neighborhood spirit that makes all that possible.I have been privileged to serve the people of Atlanta for 20 years.
