Elior Swimwear is a vintage swimwear collection inspired by the era of the 1950's which positively beamed with glamour and shouted femininity from the roof tops. This collection was designed to bring an alternative to the usual beach experience of flip flops and a string bikini. Instead I designed well fitting classical pieces that have a sense of elegance and celebrates the female form which abounds with curves. The design features are ruching and panelling which enhance a shapely waistline as well as strap details and throws that are all about comfort while keeping it stylishly 50's.Drawing on my love of Hollywood movies from this era that I watched over and over again through-out all my growing up years. Famous stars like Fred Astair, Ginger Rogers, Audrey Hepburn, Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, Gene Kelly and Sophia Loren entranced me with their suave clothing and footwork. There is nothing like watching a flowing evening gown flutter in all its silky frills while it's wearer is being waltzed around an expansive dance floor. I adored the musicals like South Pacific, State Fair, Singing in the Rain, Daddy Long Legs and I can not forget Gidget! She surfed in gorgeous little vintage numbers squealing "this is the ultimate". This was the catalyst that made me think back in 2007 (when I was studying fashion) that vintage styles had an edge on some of our modern ones and that surely vintage would make a come back. The end of that story is...... yes it did.
