Calvert Reconnections is the UK’s first intensive acquired brain injury rehabilitation centre combining traditional clinical therapies with a focus on outdoor activities.We provide an innovative, goal-focused and outcome-based approach to ABI rehabilitation.As Head of Service, I lead an interdisciplinary team, combining experienced clinicians with qualified activity instructors who assess and deliver personalised 24-hour rehabilitation programmes. Ultimately, we offer individuals tangible results and real pathways back to everyday life.

I spent 23 years with the NHS, qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 2006My passion has always been to work in a community setting and I enjoyed various roles including acquired brain injury, long-term neuro conditions, neurological sprinting and stroke rehab.Other career highlights with the NHS included leading the community stroke team, assisting to set up and develop a new service in the acute A&E department to reduce hospital admissions and setting up a pilot working in collaboration with North West Ambulance Service to prevent A&E admissions.From 2015 onwards, I took on a management post, leading the Eden Community Rehab team, developing strategic specialist leadership / management skills and gaining invaluable experience delivering high quality health services.
