I have always been interested in technology. When I was 6 I remember being shown my first computer, a ZX Spectrum, and being absolutely fascinated. From that point on I was always tinkering with our home computers, from our Commodore Amiga 500 to an array of "IBM compatible" machines up until I was ready to start building my own.It was when I first discovered the internet at around age 14 ( and 28 kbps) that I developed my initial interest in web design and development.I started out by using such tools as GeoCities and Angelfire to make small hobby websites for myself and friends while at the same time learning the basics of HTML.From there I went on to University and studied multimedia technology in order to get a well rounded understanding of information technologies. This helped cement in my mind that web design was for me. I chose to do my honours year focused around web design and usability and I began freelancing in my spare time to help develop a portfolio to ensure once I graduated I would be employable straight away.Fast forward to now and I am concentrating on my own freelance web and graphic design business after working for large scale organizations for the last 8 years. I look forward to expanding my design and development portfolio further and to continue adapting to the web technologies as they evolve.One of my favourite things about web design is the fact that it's always changing. Trends in design and development methods are constantly shifting. You can never become complacent knowing that there is always a challenge around the corner.
