I joke that my department at Queen's University Belfast has all of the bits that nobody else knew what to do with and that's kind of why I love my job! An Event Manager at heart, I'm still lucky enough to get the opportunity to be hands on by looking after the management of the University's core events (all the good ones ... Graduation, Presidential visits, award ceremonies, and so on). Day to day though, I'm responsible for a team of around 40 staff, split into seven small, specialist teams, with a remit that includes curation of the Naughton Gallery, management of the Queen's Film Theatre and Film Hub NI, operation of two retail units, business development, external conferences/events and academic timetabling. I love that no two days are ever the same.Having worked as Timetabling Manager here for 10 years before being offered by current role, I have extensive experience using a range of specialist software systems, including the suite of Scientia products (I'm actually a 'Scientia Enterprise Expert') and the Kinetics Kx modules. I'm also well used to using the full range of Office products, I'm a dab hand with Photoshop and I have a good working knowledge of SQL. I'm a PRINCE2 professional and my CV shows that I have experience in change management, delivering against ambitious commercial income targets, the development of sustainable business plans, managing significant budgets and writing and presenting reports at a senior management level.I love making connections, so feel free to give me a shout.
