In every interview I've ever been in since 1995 (and at times social settings), I always gets asked about my time rowing. Its been 29 years since I rowed at the World Championships but it still seems to mean something about who I am to people.If you ever doubt the amount of time (and money) your child's sport is costing.... Its always worth it. I have just dropped my daughter off to a 5.30am rowing training... Its going to be a long day.. for both of us.But this space isn't about a 90's rowing career or my schedule as a parent of a teenager, its about the space in between. That time that is work. There has been a lot of it.What I've learnt along the way is that success comes easiest when you have learnt how to juggle.....The constant stream of tasks to be completed...The constant meetings with clients and teams...The tough emails from tough clients you don't like answering... but need toThere will always be opportunities to chase, work stream processes to make more efficient and strategic business decisions to make. Understanding and deciding on how to spend your time/what to focus on when, what angles to take when dealing with challenging situations, plays the biggest part in business success. You can have all the strategic meetings you like, but getting the juggle right each day, each week and each month is what counts. Or that's what I think anyway. Maybe those years juggling training sessions, University and making enough dosh to pay rent has served me well. What do I get the biggest kick out of now?... - Mentoring and leading a team to make decisions on how best to juggle. - Establishing and nurturing mutually beneficial commercial relationships. - Seeing the success come and enjoying the process.
