I have been translating for many years while living in Spain and Italy, but decided to go full time in September 2012, trading as KCD Languages. Since then I have translated documents of all kinds, gaining experience in a wide range of sectors. My translation pairs are Italian to English and Spanish to English.My real passion lies in literature; I am an avid reader of contemporary fiction and aspire to translate it.In 2015 I attended Translate in the City summer school at City University, London, and discovered my ability to find not just the right word, but also the voice and tone of a text. I subsequently entered a translation competition run by publishing company And Other Words, and won the Italian section. I have since translated numerous extracts and articles for the website Booksinitaly.it, and I attend as many translation-related events as possible while I work towards my first novel.
