Claire has recently accepted an opportunity as a Senior Supply Chain Manager on the Amazon Inbound Transportation team. Her focus is on truckload performance provided by Amazon Freight and third party carriers in addition to deep diving on truckload specific shipper defects. Claire supported the transportation business in her former Amazon role as a Transfer Pricing Tax Manager, and she is excited to apply her experience to improve the performance of Inbound Transportation. She has over 10 years of transfer pricing experience. After working as a consultant for EY and PwC, she moved in-house as an advisor for the Amazon Transfer Pricing Tax team. For 6.5 years, Claire developed the transfer pricing policies for Amazon Transportation, Digital, and Consumer businesses and designed review processes of the intercompany transactions to ensure they were carried out according to the transfer pricing policies and the US GAAP. Claire collaborated with US and International tax teams to correctly report the intercompany transactions on US and foreign tax returns. She managed the annual transfer pricing documentation exercise including local, master files and related party transaction forms and contributed to audit responses to tax authorities. Claire's areas of expertise within transfer pricing include consumer businesses in the Middle East and China, digital businesses related to video streaming services, games, and iOS and Android applications, and transportation businesses related to inbounding freight into the US, air, and last mile delivery. Additionally, she has done significant work with the internal trade compliance teams to collaborate on the application of the transfer pricing policy as the customs valuation methodology. Claire is well-versed in the importance of interactions between customs and transfer pricing and is regularly invited to speak on this topic. Her top three deliverables in the transfer pricing space include developing the transfer pricing policy for the Amazon Studios business, the Prime Gaming business, and teaming with the trade compliance team to develop customs valuation methodology standard operating procedures. Claire is a committed runner and has completed eight half marathons and is a devoted Barry's Bootcamper with over 200 classes completed. She is passionate about baking and needlepointing. Her current projects include trying to make the perfect liege waffle and stitching an SMU-themed throw pillow.
