I am a Professional Arts Practitioner and designer based in Hanoi. Since 2013 I have been working alongside Vietnamese Artists and designers through my art and design studio/gallery Work Room Four. Work Room Four was founded to link together three vital creative components in a singular space. Art, design and education form the core elements of the organisation’s operational activities. I created a unique business model to act as its own self-funding economic ecosystem. Income from the multidisciplinary design studio work funds independent exhibitions for artists in an unfunded landscape and educational programming, workshops and skill-sharing training help to bridge gaps in creative education.I have worked hard to become an integral part of the Vietnamese creative landscape and have contributed to a wide variety of diverse projects which champion Vietnamese art and design locally and internationally. In 2015 I co-founded Vietnam’s first and only affordable Art Fair with Manzi founder and director Tram Vu and helped to create a calendar event which facilitates a platform for sales for Vietnamese artists. In 2018 I curated the Vietnam Pavilion at the London Design Biennale and in 2021 curated and designed the UNIS (United Nations International School) Cultural Collection display and archive which is one the largest donor collection of cultural artefacts outside of the Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi.As designer and artist myself, my approach is to look for innovative ways to solve art and design problems, communicate ideas and connect with my community; incorporating an educational approach in all aspects of my work. From exhibition curation and organisation, to academic research, to branding and product development I have an informed perspective of the creative economies and infrastructure of the art and design communities in Vietnam.
