She got her first taste of the advertising industry as a copywriter in a small agency back in the early 80s. Liking what she sampled, she ventured a move to J. Walter Thompson (JWT), Manila, then the country’s No. 1 ad agency, and stayed for nearly a decade and a half. Working on global brands of Unilever, Kodak, and Pepsi—and winning creative awards in the process—she ultimately rose to the position of Vice President and Executive Creative Director.In 1999, with the arrival of her second child, she retired (or so she thought) from stressful living and set up a relaxing home-based garden shop. This eventually expanded to a manufacturing and distribution company of gardening products that were sold nationwide. In 2004, some former colleagues got in touch and asked if she would be interested in hopping back onto advertising’s back for what she thought would be a small ad hoc project for Rexona, a top Unilever brand. This exploded into one of the most successful nationwide brand activations the brand had ever seen, and led to the establishment of the ad agency, Dyll, the “D” in the acronym being her.

She has been teaching senior college students how to craft focused, incisive and inspiring creative briefs; how to develop concepts that transcend all types of media; and how to judge if an ad's copy and art direction are persuasive and effective. This experience continues to show her how teachers never stop learning through the eyes of their students.
