• Initiate, develop, and implement integrated marketing and communications strategy, including plans for member retention and growth, community engagement, and sponsorship and advertising.• Prepare materials for the Executive Director for communications with the CIC’s Boards; attend board meetings to present communications strategy and plan.• Design overall content strategy and create compelling content for CIC channels including email marketing, website, and social media, leading to 30% increase in e-newsletter open rate and 15% increase in social media followers.• Lead equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives at the CIC, including writing newsletter stories highlighting women in the chemical sciences, developing the CIC’s statement against anti-Black racism, and managing the new portfolio of member resource groups to provide equity-seeking groups with community support.• Create, produce, and promote new online event brand, CIC Virtual, gaining +150 attendees per event and an increase of 10,000 unique website visits per month; host and moderate webinars.

Working on the Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, I monitor all stages of the article publication process. I correspond with authors and edit and proof manuscripts that have been accepted for publication. In order to ensure that the journal is published in a timely fashion, I liaise with typesetters and other production staff. I also draft the table of contents for upcoming journal issues and maintain and update numerous spreadsheets to track article progress. In addition, I compose marketing and social media content to promote the journal.

I copy edited and formated articles accepted for publication by the Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, using Microsoft Word, LaTex, and ScholarOne Manuscript workflow system. I ran the journal’s social media to provide our followers with previews of journal content, promote our authors, and engage with the broader science community. Finally, I write newsletter content and create ads in order to promote the journal to the wider Chemical Institute of Canada community.

I was responsible for providing substantive comments on the content of a book project, assisting with the integration of feedback from the peer review process, formatting into Chicago Style, and checking all references and quotations to ensure accuracy.

I developed and taught a new version of a seminar for 25 students, meeting once a week for 2 hours. My responsibilities included course design, using virtual learning environment and course management system (Blackboard), lecturing, facilitating discussion, and developing and marking assignments.

I worked on five different courses and was responsible for teaching 30-person tutorials , answering students’ questions, engaging with students over email, giving guest lectures, and marking assignments. By providing extensive feedback on writing, I helped students improve their clarity of expression and ideas.

I worked autonomously on projects to support a team of four lawyers and a librarian in the Tribunal Council Office. My projects included updating the Manual of Rules of Practice and Procedure and preparing a table of concordance, editing, formatting, and publishing case decisions to the website using Adobe Dreamweaver, and reorganizing the office from a paper to digital system for all case files. I also summarized precedent-making decisions for publication internally and to the website and assisted with updating library resources and providing research for decisions.
