There’s nothing I love more than learning about something new and exploring the capabilities of processes and materials!I graduated from the University of Rochester with a BS in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Materials Science. I spent 3 years working at Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS) as a process engineer, specifically working on process improvements and management for physical vapor deposition of metallic thin films. This has given me valuable experience with high-precision manufacturing and evaluation techniques, manufacturing demands, changing company objectives and targets. At SAS, I’ve gained experience working with troubleshooting and quality control and monitoring techniques including 5S, FMEA, 8D, 5Why, Fishbone diagrams, and writing and monitoring ECO’s. I have also worked on projects that require wrangling multiple teams with different objectives into co-operating to meet goals, and I can work effectively with just about anyone.In my leisure time, I like to continuously learn new things and work with new materials. I have a long history of baking for friends (and co-workers!), working with new and different edible materials like isomalt, fondant, buttercream, and cake to push the limits of edible crafting. I also enjoy casting with epoxy resins and experimenting with my 3D printer to play with the diverse world of plastics and polymers and try my hand at acquiring new skills in the process.
