I have been working in childcare professionally for 10 years. My experience extends across the entire spectrum of education. I have worked in: high and low income public schools; after school programs; a private school for 2.5 years, and 0.5 years as a substitute for many of the private schools in the area; and a charter school for 4 years. My two primary jobs since graduating have been in a school that implemented blended learning and utilized computers to help students learn deeper, and in a school that was Waldorf inspired that focused on art and exploration through stories and activities to help students learn deeper. The breadth of my experience and training gives me a unique perspective on the efficacy of education models, creation of curriculum, and classroom management. Over the last few years, my focus has been on bringing more equitable instructional practices and curriculum to my students. My ideal job is in a district where I can combine holistic-head/hands/heart curriculum mapping and planning with the benefits of tech in classroom instruction.
