Totnes Caring is a health and wellbeing hub for older people (50+) and their family carers in Totnes and the surrounding areas. Our Social Prescribing Link Workers also support +18’s in the Ashburton, Buckfastleigh, South Brent and Totnes area. We provide:• Support to older people to remain independent in their homes by providing home help, shopping, lunch clubs and transport to medical appointments.• Support people with long-term health conditions such as dementia, and their family carers. Giving advice, information and support, including groups which include art and singing groups.• We have a wellbeing team who support individuals to identify, communicate and achieve their aspirations for better lives. Working across both GP and community settings, our Social Prescribers and Wellbeing Coordinators help people find appropriate community and non-clinical solutions to their needs; to reduce their social isolation and improve their health and wellbeing.

Improving Lives Plymouth is a Health and Wellbeing Charity and was established 110 years ago in 1907. We run information, advice and support services for disabled people, Carers and those with long term health conditions. We also run Plymouth's Veteran and Family Hub as well as Mannamead Wellbeing Hub.Improving Lives has a number of long-standing and new services. My role as a Lecturer in Sociology and Psychology required me to develop the annual curriculum structure and scheme of work. To plan, teach and mark students work. To keep abreast of assessors’ requirements, examination boards and current research in my academic field. My main tasks were:• Develop annual curriculum structure and schemes of work for A level Sociology, A level Psychology, Access to Higher Education and Degree in Psychology (affiliated to the University of Plymouth)• Prepare, teach and mark for A level Sociology, psychology, Access to Higher Education and midwifery and degree level psychology.• Support students with work placements and career development.

As a Community Development Manager I worked with a local community, local councilors and Plymouth City Council to develop and enhance community cohesion and activities for the whole area. My key tasks were:• Work with Plymouth City Council to develop the Local Area Action Plan with the community. Including the plan for residential development, community spaces and transport issues.• Work with the community, residents and businesses to develop the local area.• Manage a budget to deliver community activities.
